OPCON 2 ways that the flooding continues to pose a serious threat to Horry County, but the situation is stabilizing. The Horry County Emergency Operations Center remains zingy 24 hours a day and the Phone Bank is operational (843-915-5150) to squire residents and visitors with questions. These tax notices reflect property values as of December 31, 2017, prior to damages from Hurricane Florence and subsequent flooding. Adjustments for any forfeiture as a result of the storm are made for the upcoming 2019 tax year, which is based on the condition of a property as of December 31, 2018. Appealing this year’s snout for inflowing forfeiture will not result in a reduction in the firsthand 2018 tax bill, but would be workable for 2019. Forms to file an request for 2019 will be misogynist in early January. Property owners who believe they qualify for a reduction in 2019 must file an request for the reduction to be considered. Horry County will review all of the 2019 appeals so that next year’s snout reflects the correct value for properties that had storm forfeiture that was not repaired prior to December 31, 2018. Tax payment deadlines are set by the State, not the County. Read More » Tagged With: Flooding, Florence Florence Flooding Update: Aerial & Truck Spraying Schedules On September 27, 2018 in Emergencies Weather permitting, Horry County will be conducting the pursuit mosquito spraying:  Aerial spraying(begins approximately 30-minutes prior to sunset): Thursday, September 27-Hwy 430, Hwy 76 & Alma Road areas. (Alternate flight stage is 10/1) Friday, September 28-Calvary Chruch Road, Bedford Road & Little Mille Road areas. (Alternate flight stage is 10/2) Truck spraying: Thursday, September 27 whence at 6:30 p.m.-Hwy 111, Hwy 50 & Hwy 90 areas. Additional truck spraying will occur Friday, September 28, Saturday, September 29 & Sunday, September 30 in areas to be determined. The chemicals used for mosquito control spraying are tried by the EPA and pose minimal risk to humans or animals.  Individuals with asthma or other respiratory illness may wish to stay indoors and tropical windows and doors during spraying.  In addition, homegrown fruits and vegetables should be washed, scrubbed, and/or peeled surpassing eating.  To help alimony our honeybee population safe, beekeepers are urged to contact Horry County Stormwater to identify the location of their colonies.  Horry County residents (ONLY) can request spraying and/or report bee colonies by visiting our website at www.horrycounty.org or by calling the Horry County Road & Drainage Hotline at (843) 381-8000.
